Each year the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) nominates a group of exceptional artists as its Rising Stars. Thrilled to announce that Johan has been selected as a Rising Star for the 21/22 season. Over the course of the season Johan will perform concert programmes in some of the most illustrious European venues, including Musikverein Wien, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, L’auditori Barcelona, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Cité de la musique Paris.

Johan will also have the chance to work with composer Tebogo Monnakgotla and to commission a new work by her, to be performed as part of his Rising Stars concert programmes. During the season Johan will also be engaged in Education, Learning and Participation work with diverse communities in cities across the ECHO network.
